Our Training
The project training programme for everybody starts with the HSSE induction, and is followed by additional training for managers and supervisors. We develop a detailed project HSSE training plan at the start of a project with the HSSE Plan. The core of our HSSE training may include the following modules:

Conducting HSSE leadership visits

Project HSSE programme, goals and rules

Engage, monitor and manage subcontractors

Conduct risk assessments (TSTI, JHA)

Conduct audits and inspections

Deliver HSSE talks and instructions

Facilitate HSSE meetings

Conduct Courage to Care engagements

Providing HSSE coaching

Incident management
The HSSE manager is responsible for the initial training of the core team, and this is then followed by a ‘Train the Trainer’ cascade. The first cascade group are the DIASOZO HSSE leads, followed by the subcontractor HSSE leads when mobilised. The Train the Trainer approach addresses the delivery issues around language and cultural fit, and it gives an effective and immediate feedback channel on the training.

Ensuring Competency & Safety
We assess the competency of client personnel prior to mobilisation. They must be familiar with all the general topics and need to become familiar with the project specific elements. Previous training records addressing similar material on previous projects is not relevant as the project specific aspects may be fundamentally different.
We require subcontractors to provide competent supervisors – but we anticipate a mixed ability set. Supervisors are a vital link between management and the workforce and they need to understand what ‘working safely’ actually means, and have the skills to transfer this information to their teams. DIASOZO has extensive experience of working with supervisors in helping them build their personal skills, which by the better communication leads to greater engagement and commitment to the project HSSE goals.
The DIASOZO HSSE manager oversees the training programme, but the construction management and broader HSSE team act as the eyes and ears on the ground to ensure that it is effective
Competency Assessment & Training Readiness
DIASOZO will assess prospective employees’ basic competency levels against the requirements for their project roles as part of the pre-employment procedures. Where relevant this will include verification of certificates and completed training. Once on the project team, they will go through a project induction, where they will be briefed on the nature of the project and the HSE goals, rules and expectations. The induction will take place at the start of their engagement with the project, and it will be regularly reinforced by ongoing tool box talks and safety meetings.
For all additional training, DIASOZO will develop a training plan to identify how the project training needs will be met.
