Permitting & Regulatory Support
Any liaison and correspondence with permitting and approval authorities will be carried out by client, however, DIASOZO can and has experience of supporting permitting and approval processes with relevant authorities and the production of supporting design documentation. DIASOZO teams work as integrators, interfacing with the designers, internal and external stakeholders, specialist surveyors and contractors to prepare, communicate and ensure the findings of EIAs and conditions set through permitting, are agreed and delivered correctly within the project.
Key features of our role include:
Experienced environmental and social assessment professionals – DIASOZO has a global team of experienced environmental consultants who ensure all environmental assessment work is proportionate, evidence-based, completed on-time, to budget and to the required technical standards.
Senior members of the DIASOZO EIA Team have extensive experience preparing EIA Reports to meet all the applicable requirements for permitting and international financing requirements.

Delivering Solutions for Complex Projects
DIASOZO has completed extensive environmental work in support of delivery of permits and EIA preparation on a wide range of projects, including:
- TotalEnergies Iraq AGUP 2.
- HYPHEN Southern Corridor
- Development Initiative.
- Equinor Blue Hydrogen Project, UK.
- Lukoil, Iraq, WQ2.
Our team are currently supporting, at the pre-FEED stage, the H2H blue hydrogen project in the UK. The DIASOZO consortium has assisted the initial permitting process by undertaking an environmental aspects identification exercise supporting the development of the consent design for permit applications.
Class leading environmental assessment resources – DIASOZO has developed the IPE tool which has Geographic Information Systems with access to the relevant environmental mapping datasets. DIASOZO is also experienced in the operation of dispersion modelling software relevant to air quality and hazard modelling assessments. DIASOZO has access to environmental noise and hydrogeological modelling assessment software, computer aided design resources, and comprehensive data resource platforms. We assess the competency of client personnel prior to mobilisation. They must be familiar with all the general topics and need to become familiar with the project specific elements. Previous training records addressing similar material on previous projects is not relevant as the project specific aspects may be fundamentally different.
Optimized Site Selection
DIASOZO has also developed a Conceptual Level Ranking Tool for Site Selection, which would be used to assess and select a preferred site.
This allows for systematic ranking of alternative sites against a number of dimensions, based largely on desktop reviews. This helps to identify sites which either have fatal flaws or are observed to lag significantly behind other sites, but also indicates where there is missing information or data gaps that prevent thorough assessment of a particular site.
This will lead to a more detailed screening step which will also typically include: Site Reconnaissance activities, questionnaires and interviews with local stakeholders to resolve critical data gaps, and development of order of magnitude Cost Estimates focused on cost differentials between the alternative sites, accounting for e.g. interconnecting pipelines routes, site clearance and preparation costs, underground services, foundation design, haul and access roads etc
